Warning Description: Heat Advisory
Warning Date: 2:36 PM CDT on July 29, 2010
WarningSum:...Heat Advisory In Effect From 1 Pm Friday To 7 Pm Cdt Sunday...
Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a heat
advisory...which is in effect from 1 PM Friday to 7 PM CDT
Sunday.
* Temperature...afternoon high temperatures through the weekend
are expected to reach the mid 90s to near 100 degrees. The high
temperatures...when combined with high afternoon relative
humidity values will allow for heat index values to range from
105 to 110 degrees through at least Sunday. Heat index values in
a few locations could exceed 110 degrees.
* Impacts...excessive heat and humidity can bring on heat related
illnesses quickly. Individuals are encouraged to use extra
caution when outdoors and be prepared for the dangers posed by
excessive heat. Avoid doing work outside during the hottest part
of the day...generally mid to late afternoon. If you must be
outside...take frequent breaks...drink plenty of water...and
wear light weight and light colored clothing. Be sure pets have
fresh water...and check on those most susceptible to heat
related illnesses.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
