Arkansas Teacher Certifications:
Over the last several years I have attended many trainings, conferences, and workshops. Topics of those include, but are not limited to, Autism, Dyslexia, Sensory Integration Disorder, Pedagogy of Questioning, Think It-Show It Math, EASEL, Professional Learning Communities, Behavior Tools, and more.
2017-2018 is my 3rd year at Bismarck School District. The first year, I taught middle school resource math. This is my second year teaching elementary CBI special education.
Previous teaching positions include Middle School Resource Language Arts and Math Teacher, Kindergarten special education for students with multiple disabilities, and Early Childhood Developmental Specialist. I have taught in public schools in Garland and Pulaski county, early childhood child development centers, and for an online public charter school.
During college I worked as a personal care aide for a young child with significant physical disabilities and as a personal care instructor for adults with developmental disabilities living in a group home setting. I have also homeschooled my own children at times, volunteered as a child advocate, and been a foster parent.
When I am not teaching, or researching new ideas for my classes, I love spending time with my family. I spend most of my time out of class watching my children at their sporting events, knitting, reading, and watching old TV shows.
